I met Chirag through Anu, his cousin and my classmate in optometry school. When he asked if I would be able to take photos for his proposal I was a little hesitant since my school schedule is not always flexible now that I’m in my final year. But as the date of the proposal drew closer and I learned where the event would be located I got pretty excited. Chirag sent me photos of the location, Liberty House in New Jersey. This restaurant oversaw the grand scheme of New York City as its background, and it would be a terrific place to capture a proposal.
The first time I actually got to meet the couple was only after they got engaged right in front of me. For the short amount of time we had, I found Chirag and Karishma to be an adorable couple. Right after taking photos with their family and friends I was able to steal the couple for a quick photo shoot during golden hour. We walked to the Empty Sky Memorial nearby and snapped some quick photos. Thinking about it now, the 9/11 memorial was probably not built for engagement photos… but it sure looks great as a background. I mean, the lighting I got in between those columns was just way too cool. How could you not want to take photos of couples in there? Anyways, congratulations to Chirag and Karishma! Best wishes to your new future as you now plan your wedding!
I have to give complements to their friends for helping with Karisma’s hair since it was kind of breezy outside. If it wasn’t for them I’m sure these photos wouldn’t have turned out as great. Special thanks to Jacob Kondrath for helping me out as my second shooter this time around!
